Red Drops is as an initiative by Chennai social service. The vision is to maintain a database of blood donors and provides that information to the blood seekers of Chennai. This website facilitates the registration of voluntary donors in and around the city of Chennai. This group basically connects with all volunteers in and around Chennai and communicates the hospitals requirement for blood. A continuous supply of blood is needed at all times throughout the year. It is in constant demand for treatment of injuries, cancer, hemophilia, and for use during surgery. In response to this we arrange blood donation camps alteast 4 times a year at regular intervals. We receive so much of support from the society for this cause and we are very grateful to have been chosen to serve this purpose.

About Chennai Social Service

Chennai Social Service (CSS) was started as a Youth Forum in ORKUT on July 27th, 2006. We are a group of people volunteering towards a social cause – “Service to Humanity” which inspired us to say “SHARE YOUR LIVING”. We have got so much from the society and now it's our turn to give something back.

As a team we attempt to change the life of marginalized, underprivileged and deprived groups of people. With this in mind we intend to create a community of passionate, driven and ingenious individuals who desire to propel a social change. Anyone who is concerned about and is relentless in the pursuit of building a more equitable society is welcome to join us.

From being an online community it has transformed into a society of like minded individuals meeting every week to script a page in people’s lives be it poor, destitute, victims of neglect or a community at large. Our projects extended to greater heights starting from visiting elderly and children homes, to conducting health camps across different parts of the city, to educating the underprivileged, donating blood during emergencies and conducting camps and also volunteering for other NGO’s.
